Introduction: A Simple Way to See Color Addition

This simple craft creates a personal demonstration for students to see color addition in action.

Supplies

black construction paper, cut into squares approx. 2"

red green and blue label dots

Step 1:

Put the dots on the squares in a way that they slightly overlap when comparing one dot to the other. This picture shows a front and back side facing the same direction.

Step 2:

Bend two opposite edges, making triangles that go opposite ways.

Step 3:

That's it! Hold the "color mixing apparatus" as shown and blow over a bent edge that faces towards you. As it spins, the two colors mix to create a secondary color (yellow, cyan, or magenta).
