Simple way to block ants from your Hummingbird feeder. Works with simple hangers like shown.

You need a plastic container - I used the base of a peanut jar, but lids of aerosol products (spray paint for example) would work well.

You also need:

- a way to drill a hole to the size of the hanger. I used a step drill.

- hot glue gun or silicone adhesive.

Step 1: Prepare Moat

Cut the bottom from a plastic container or lid. I used a clear snack container, but a lid from a spray can would work well. Drill a hole to match your hanger, you want it to be a snug fit.

Step 2: Install Moat on Hanger

Slide the moat onto the hanger, and position wherever you prefer to be able to refill if necessary. Apply a ring of adhesive and slide the moat down onto it. You can add more to the joint inside if you feel it is necessary to seal it up.

Add water, and you are done!
