Introduction: Apple Pie Moonshine
I heard about this delicious beverage several weeks ago and it sounded so good that I just had to try it, and boy am I glad I did! It's got all the flavors of Apple pie incorporated into it and is perfect for a cold winter evening! I plan on giving a few jars away for gifts, but I will be sure and keep some for myself. I didn't have a pot large enough to make a full batch so I changed the original recipe to accomidate the pot I had.Technically, this isn't really moonshine. There is no complicated distilling involved so it's quite easy to make.
Step 1: Supplies and Ingredients
You will need an 8 quart stainless steel pot, a large wooden spoon for stirring, 6 canning jars with lids (make sure the lids do not have any rust on them) also, a measuring cup and I had a plastic funnel on hand, it was helpful but not absolutely neccesary.
The ingredients needed are:
96 oz Apple Cider
64 oz Apple juice
750 ml whipped cream flavored Vodka
6 cinnamon sticks
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
Step 2: Mix Ingredients
Pour into the pot, Apple cider and apple juice. Stir together and add the white sugar and brown sugar. Stir well.
Step 3: Heat on Stove
Bring liquid to a boil, stirring constantly. Add all 6 cinnamon sticks, then turn heat down to low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Allow mixture to cool for about 2 hours.
Step 4: Add Alcohol
Pour the entire bottle of vodka into the apple juice mixture. stir well.
Step 5: Pour Into Canning Jars
Pour liqiud into 6 canning jars (quart size) that have been sterilized. Place a cinnamon stick into each jar. Wipe the top of each jar with a damp cloth to remove any juice. Screw the lids onto the jars tightly.
Step 6: Finished Product
I know several people who would love to recieve one of these jars of Apple Pie Moonshine for a gift. This recipe is not as strong as some out there. most of them call for using Everclear in addition to the Vodka. Either way you make it, remember to drink responsibly!

I make a similar Apple Pie Cocktail that I bottle in small mason jars and give them for Christmas every year.

I made mine with 1- one liter bottle of everclear and 1- 750ml vanilla vodka together. Mixed with apple pie mixture. I just added vanilla extract to my mixture to help with flavoring. With this alchohol added you should have over 100 proof. Everyone asks me to make it every year.
You can also do it with bourbon whiskey to. Just add 2 tbsp's of vanilla extract to each mason jar.

I love this recipe, however, I am looking to make a duplicate drink at about 3X the alcohol. I estimated this particular recipe at about 10-13 %/vol. I am hoping to obtain 30-ish %/vol (60-65 proof). If anyone on here has any insight it would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

I also add a fifth of grain alcohol to mine. Let set at least 3 weeks.

I'd classify this more as a mixed drink than as moonshine.

This stuff is delicious but I would definitely recommend using Everclear. I also made a batch once using Caramel Vodka and Fireball Whiskey. Good stuff.

Awesome 'ible. The whipped cream vodka does give it an excellent taste, but I do also like to make it stronger with Everclear. You definitely have some lucky friends for the Holidays.

A lot of liquor stores in the US are selling legal moonshine. Just not as high an alcohol content as the back hill illegal stuff.
