Introduction: Apple Pie #HMS2020

In this Instructables, I am going to be showing you how to make Apple Pie from scratch under 2 hours. In this recipe i'm using vanilla extract and, cinnamon to add a little bit more flavor to the pie. And i'm using a medal pie pan because, I don't recommend the foil pie pan because it's smaller. For the pie crust, I used Pillsbury pie crust but you can also use a different kind.

Supplies

Pie Crust

Pie pan

1/2 cup of unsalted butter

3 tablespoons of all purpose flour

1/4 cup of water

1/2 cup of white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

8 (or less) apples- peeled and sliced

1/2 Vanilla extract (optional)

1/2 Cinnamon (optional)

Step 1: Prepare the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit

Step 2: Peel, Core, Slice

Peel the apples. Then evenly slice the apples into very thin slices (1/8 inches). For this pie I sliced/peeled 6 apples depending on how pig your pie is. Make sure you have enough apples to fill in the crust.

Step 3: Prepare Crust

Use 1 roll of the pie crust and place it on the bottom of the pan. Make sure you are putting the pie crust in gently because the dough is very fragile.

Step 4: Creating the Pie

Put the sliced apples on top of the crust in the pan to form a mount.Make sure it's higher than the pan.

Step 5: Making the Sauce

Turn your heat to medium low heat in a small sauce pan to melt your butter. Stir in flour to form a paste. Add water, white and brown sugar, cinnamon (optional), vanilla extract (optional), and bring to a boil reduce temperature and let simmer

Step 6: Creating the Top Crust

Take your pie crust and it into 1 inch strips and form a lattice crust on top of your mount of apples.

Step 7: Saucing the Pie

Gently pour the sauce (sugar and butter) over the crust. Pour slowly so that it doesn't run off.

Step 8: Baking the Pie

Place the pie in the oven for 15 minutes then reduce the temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake it for 40 minutes.

Step 9: Cool Down

Remove the pie from the oven and let sit for 30 minutes. Then you have Apple Pie!

Step 10: Conclusion

If I was to remake the apple pie I would make my apples a little more thicker because when it’s very thin it’s very soft. And I would also use a pie pan because I couldn't find a metal pie pan so, I used a cake pan but i'm pretty sure it'll still taste the same.
