Cardboard Armor Lvl 1

No warrior is complete without his armor! Except barbarians... And wizards...

Step 1: Materials

Cardboard toilet paper tubes (A lot of them)

Duct tape

String or cord

Scissors

Brass fasteners

A paper clip

Step 2: Ready Your Materials

Fold all of the toilet paper rolls flat and cut along one of the folds so that you have a single long sheet of cardboard.

Unfold the paper clip and fold it into the shape shown above. This will help you later.

Step 3: Beginning Construction

Take a long piece of tape and lay it adhesive side up on a flat surface.

Place 3 sheets side by side leaving half the tape open as shown.

Then place another 3 sheets on the other side of the tape.

Fold the excess over and repeat until you have a 3x3 sheet.

Place pieces of tape along the seams until there are no cracks.

Repeat until you have 2 sheets.

Step 4: Neck

Fold one of the sheets in half long ways. Cut a small triangle out of it as shown. This is now your chest piece.

Step 5: Shoulder Straps

Fold two uncut tubes in half length wise.

Tape them together at the ends as shown.

Repeat until you have 2.

Step 6: The Sum of Their Parts

First, strengthen the upper corners of the chest and back plates with tape.

Next, slide the chest piece into the fold of a shoulder strap.

Poke aa hole through all of the resulting layers, and push a brass fastener through it.

Repeat for the back piece.

It should look like the fourth picture on this step.

Fold the shoulder pieces in three places as shown.

Step 7: Color!

Use tape to color your armor. You only really have to tape the outsides of each side, but you can tape the inside as well.

Step 8: ...Strings on Me...

Poke holes through both sides about where I am pointing in the first picture on this step.

You will need the paper clip tool from earlier.

Thread the end of your string through the eye as shown.

Starting from the back piece, thread the string through both layers, and out the front.

Wrap the string back around to the back, then back to the front on the other side.

Thread from the front through both layers, and out the back.

Both sides should look as shown.

Make sure there is a good amount of string hanging from both holes on the back piece, enough to tie in the front.

Step 9: Finished Product

Slip over your head, and tighten the strings by pulling them.

Tie off in the front.

Try adding pauldrons (Shoulder armor), or different colors!
