Introduction: Backrest Up Date
I took the old backrest off my Suzuki
Step 1:
I found a logo off the internet and traced it onto some typing paper. I found some foam with some fabric on one side and picked out some vinyl.
Step 2:
TIP: I like to wind a few bobbins before I start. I noticed they were coming unwound. I found if I put them in a water bottle lid they stay rolled.
Step 3:
I sewed around the pattern upside down as I find it is easier to sew with the vinyl side down. I sewed the side in one piece and top stitched it. Adds a little custom look.

Great instructable. I have done a lot of upholstery and never thought of using the top of a water bottle to keep the bobbins from unwinding--thanks for a really useful tip.

I almost didn't include that tip but I have tried rubber bands and tape, then some caps were sitting on my machine and I sit a bobbin in one with the tail underneath and wallah... Glad you liked it :)
