Tis the season for baking, and lucky for us bananas are a year-round yum! These incredible banana crumb muffins combine a regular muffin with an amazing crumble top! Little miss Muffin won't know where to sit!

Imagine that within 30 short minutes this delectable treat will be in hand's (and mouth's) reach!

Let's get started

Step 1: Start Your Engines!

Preheat oven to 375'

Step 2: Gather the Ingredients

For the muffins:
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder

3 bananas (mashed)
3/4 cup white sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup melted butter

For the crumble top:
4 tbsp flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp cold butter
2/3 cup packed brown sugar

Step 3: Smashing Bananas

Ripe bananas are the best for baking because they're more supple and sweet. But of course, fresh bananas work great as well!

- Peel all 3 bananas and put into a bowl
- Smash them to a pulp. Any technique works! It should resemble puree when you're done

Step 4: Making the Flour Mix

Mix together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Step 5: Making Banana Mix

Mix together the sugar, melted butter, banana puree until blended and smooth

Step 6: Adding Flour Mix to Banana Mix

Stir both mixes together until just blended

Note: over-mixing will cause your muffin to be dense

Step 7: Making Crumble Topping

In a new bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, and flour. Add (or "cut") in the cold butter. There are a lot of different techniques for this, but I prefer to use my hands. knead/toss/squeeze together until the mix looks like coarse meal (or like crumbles)

Put aside

Step 8: Pour Muffin Batter Into Pan

Please note that this recipe is for 10 muffins, so on a regular 12 muffin pan, you will have two empty cups

I used an ice cream scoop to pour the batter into the muffin cups, but any spoon will do the job. The batter is fairly sticky so use any technique to fill those little cups!

Fill all 10 muffin cups as equally as you can.

Step 9: Sprinkling on Crumble Topping

Retrieve your crumb topping, and pour equally over all batter-filled muffin cups. I used about 2.5 tbsp of crumble mix per muffin.

You're ready to pop it in the oven!

Step 10: Time to Bake

Bake at 375' for about 18+ minutes. If you're not sure whether its cooked through, dip a toothpick down the center of one muffin, if it comes out clean, they're ready to be taken out!

In the meantime, your kitchen will begin to smell like heaven. Expect residents to flock near.

Let cool 10 minutes before consuming (trust me, 10 minutes have never gone slower!)
