Step 1: Very Simple Bandsaw Jig

On the build of this jig there is not much mystery and that is why I did not made a video about it. It is very easy to do it, you should simply cut two pieces of MDF or plywood, for example, and make a cut at 45º on one of the edges of each part to give it the proper inclination to hold the log. That will be enough for not move the piece while you are cutting.

As you can see, for reinforce the structure on the base I have used 4 triangles of MDF cut outat 45º and then I have used fast glue to glue everything on the base. Very simple.

For slide the jig, you will need screwing one piece on each edge on the table top of the bandsaw and this will enough to slides the jig perfectly. This can be seen in one of the images.

Step 2: How It Works

The tension of the blade is a lot more balanced than doing it by freehand without take the risk of breaking the blade. You can watch it works in the video.

Thirdly and finally, the dressing of this cookies was the laser engraved logo. This was the first time I have used this laser machine and it works very well. I was surprised with the power, so I will do many more projects with it.
