In this lesson you will learn to make a ring using Cylinder shapes. Here we go!

  1. Drag a cylinder to the workplane and make it a hole.

Step 1: Basic Ring

The following information is a single lesson in a larger Tinkercad project. Check out this and more projects on Tinkercad.

  1. The cylinder should be scaled to fit the finger it is being made for.
  2. We will use 17mm for the diameter in this example, but feel free to adjust the size to your needs.

Step 2: Basic Ring

The following information is a single lesson in a larger Tinkercad project. Check out this and more projects on Tinkercad.

  1. Drag a Cylinder shape to the workplane. This will make the outside of the ring.

Step 3: Basic Ring

The following information is a single lesson in a larger Tinkercad project. Check out this and more projects on Tinkercad.

  1. Scale the new cylinder to be 4mm larger than the cylinder hole.
  2. Since we used 17mm we will scale the diameter to 21mm (17mm + 4mm = 21mm).
  3. If for example your cylinder hole is 10mm, then you would need to scale to a diameter of 14mm (10mm + 4mm = 14mm)

Step 4: Basic Ring

The following information is a single lesson in a larger Tinkercad project. Check out this and more projects on Tinkercad.

  1. Select both shapes and scale them to a height of 4mm.

Step 5: Basic Ring

The following information is a single lesson in a larger Tinkercad project. Check out this and more projects on Tinkercad.

  1. Keep both items selected and group them together using the group button on the menu bar.

Step 6: Basic Ring

The following information is a single lesson in a larger Tinkercad project. Check out this and more projects on Tinkercad.

  1. Rotate the ring so it is standing up on the workplane.
