Winter may be coming to an end, but that doesn't mean the cold is. This hat is a perfect idea for either men who have already shaved their beard they accumulated during the winter months and feel like they need a replacement, a funny gift for a friend, or a hat for those cold spring days without having that winter look.

Skill: Previous knowledge in crochet.

Size of hat: Teen-Adult Supplies: Yarn, 5.50 MM crochet hook, scissors, a yarn needle, a stitch marker(I use a bobby pin)

Step 1: Starting the Hat

a.Start off by crocheting a chain of 4.
b.Slip stitch in first chain made.
c.Half double crochet(hdc) 10 stitches in the circle made in step b. Don't forget to use a stitch marker to mark your first stitch.

Step 2: First Row

first row: Double crochet(dc) twice in every stitch. Don't forget to keep moving the stitch marker to the first stitch in every row.

Step 3: Second Row

second row: Dc once in the first stitch of the row and twice in the next, then one dc and then two. Do this pattern for the rest of the row. The last stitch should end with two dc.

Step 4: Third Row

third row: Dc once in each of the first two stitches, two dc in the third stitch, dc once in the next two, two dc in the next, etc.

Step 5: Fourth Row

fourth row: Dc once in each of the first three stitches, dc twice in the next, dc once in the next three, dc twice in next, etc.

Step 6: Fifth Row

fifth row: Dc once in each of the next four stitches, two dc in the next, one dc in the next four, two dc in the next, etc.

Step 7: Hat Crown Diameter

To fit a teen/ adult the diameter should be 6.75- 7 inches.

Step 8: Hat Height

sixth row- last: Dc once in every stitch until you get the desired length you want. To fit the average teen/ adult try for 9-10 inches from the top of the hat to the bottom.

Step 9: Beginning the Beard

Step 10: Adding Rows to the Beard

Dc in each stitch, in the last stitch chain two, turn and continue dc in every stitch. Continue until It's approximately 2.5 inches in height.

Step 11: Making the Mustache

a.Dc in the next 7 stitches.
b.chain 6
c.skip 6 stitches and dc in the next 7
d. chain 2, turn, dc in every stitch.

Step 12: Braided Mustache

a. Cut out approximately 9 strands of yarn about 23-24 inches long.
b. Tie the ends together with a small strand of yarn
c. Braid the strands
d. Tie the end of the braid
e. fold the braid in half and cut the ends of the yarns so they can be equal strands

Step 13: Beard Length

a. Cut strands of yarn approximately 20 inches long.
b. Turn beard upside down so the mustache is closer to you.
c. Attach 2 strands of yarn on to each stitch where you want the beard length. (look at the pictures to see what i mean)
d. Sew the braid onto the mustache with a yarn needle.
