Introduction: Bloody Hand-Print Wall Art

About: I am a conceptual artist, and my DIY projects are mostly inspired by pop culture (movies, music, sports, TV). I mostly specialize in painting, graphic design, drawing, digital photography, performance art, and…

Getting your hands messy for this wall art project has never been this "bloody" good!

Step 1: Materials

To make this bloody hand-print masterpiece, you will need the following items:

  • a picture frame (I'm using an 8 x 10 inch frame)
  • fake blood
  • red paint
  • white paper
  • pen (not shown)
  • scissors (not shown)

Step 2: Prep Frame

To begin, carefully remove the glass from the picture frame and set the frame aside.

Step 3: Trace Out White Paper

Next, use a pen to carefully trace out the size of the glass on a piece of white paper, and cut out the shape.

Step 4: Make Handprints

Now, squeeze out some red paint and fake blood onto a palette, mix it up, and dip just the palm of your hand on top of it. Then, carefully lift it up, and place onto the glass to make hand-prints. You can make as many as you like, or if your family is involved, have them make their own signature print on one part of the glass.

Step 5: Add More Blood

If you want to, as well, you can also drizzle on some more fake blood in a few empty spaces to make this piece look a little more gory. You can pour it on, or drizzle it on. It's up to you! Just make sure that it looks super gory!

Then, just replace the glass back in the frame, along with the white paper, and backing, and it's done!

Step 6: Display

Now, place your messy handwork on your Halloween (or year round) table, your wall, or wherever you want to add some bloody good creepiness to your home decor!
