Introduction: Bread Recipe

Ingredients you need to make your own bread:

Flour - 5 cups 
Eggs - 2
Sugar - 3 tablespoons
Salt - 2 teaspoons
Dry yeast - 4 teaspoons
Milk (2% or 3.25%) - 500 ml
Softened butter - 95 ml

** It's very important you ensure that all quantities are accurate **

Step 1: Start Your Bread!


You need to heat the milk up to 34 C (93 F).
Stir the yeast in the milk and let stand for 10 minutes so that the yeast can activate.

Step 2:

In a bol, mix the flour, the salt, the sugar and the diluted yeast in the milk to make a paste.

Step 3: With a Mixer

Using the hook, turn the mixer on low speed for about 10 minutes.

After, let stand 5 minutes.

Step 4: With Your Hands

Knead dough on floured surface about 10 minutes until dough is smooth and elastic.

Let stand 5 minutes.

Step 5:

Stir the butter and eggs to the dough.

Increase the intensity of the mixer and let it run another 10 minutes.


Knead again for 10 minutes, until dough is elastic

Step 6:

After kneading the dough, place it in a bowl covered with a plastic wrap.

Step 7:

Let rise for 45 minutes at room temperature. The dough should double in volume.

Step 8:

After the dough has risen, knead again a few minutes (2-3 minutes).

Place dough in a cakemold and let stand another 45 minutes. The dough should double in volume again.

Step 9:

Preheat oven to 400 F and bake for 45 minutes.

You can also brush your bread with egg yolk before cooking.
