Introduction: Buffalo Chicken Dip in a Crockpot

This is a very easy and simplified way to make buffalo chicken dip! This recipe is great for parties and gatherings as an appetizer for the guests to have with tortilla chips. The crock pot is very useful for this recipe because it keeps the dip warm and ready to eat throughout the day. Also, it makes preparing the dip very easy and quick. This recipe is good for about 4 people, so if you have a lot of people to feed, just double up on ingredients! If you are in a rush to make this recipe, it can be ready in 45 minutes by using HIGH heat. If you want a more slow cooking process, you can keep the crock pot on LOW/MEDIUM heat and the dip will be ready in a about 2 1/2 hours. Cooking it on HIGH or LOW/MEDIUM will not make a difference in

Ingredients:

2(10 ounce) cans of chicken

2(8 ounce) packets cream cheese

3⁄4 cup hot sauce

1 cup ranch dressing

1 cup cheddar cheese

2 cups mozzarella cheese

Equipment:

Crock pot

Fork

Knife

Spoon

Step 1: Spray the Crock Pot

Using any non-stick cooking spray, lightly coat the bottom of the crock pot so that the dip doesn't stick.

Step 2: Turn on the Crock Pot

Turn on your crock pot and put it on high heat. Be careful that you don't burn your hand while doing the next steps, as the crock pot will be very hot.

Step 3: Combine Ingedients

Take your chicken, cream cheese, ranch dressing, hot sauce, and mozzarella cheese and put all of this into your crock pot. If you buy the big blocks of mozzarella cheese, make sure to shred it first or cut it up into small pieces. Don't put in the cheddar cheese in yet. The crock pot's heat will do most of the work for you. Put the cover on and let the ingredients melt. If you want to put the crock pot on low heat, the process will take about 2 1/2 hours. On high heat, this will take about 45 minutes. Either way, the dip will still taste the same!

Step 4: Stir the Ingredients

Begin to stir the mixture occasionally so that the cream cheese and cheddar cheese melts. Stirring the ingredients will also help to break apart the larger pieces of chicken that may have been mixed in. Once you are finished stirring the ingredients, put the cover back onto the crock pot.

Step 5: Reduce the Heat Setting

Once 45 minutes has passed, reduce the heat setting to low heat. Stir the mixture to make sure everything is combined and melted nicely. By now, everything should be almost fully melted and mixed together.

Step 6: Stir in Cheddar Cheese

Once you are ready to begin serving the dip, open the crock pot and put in the cheddar cheese while it is still on low heat. Stir the cheese into the mixture. You can put as much of this cheese as you would like. There are no limits!

Step 7: Serve and Enjoy!

While serving the buffalo chicken dip, keep the heat setting on low so the dip doesn't solidify. Once it gets cold, it becomes hard and difficult to use. This is the great part about using a crock pot for this recipe! Make sure everyone knows to be careful of the crock pots heat. Have your guests take the buffalo chicken dip right from the crock pot using a large spoon. I would recommend serving the dip with some type of tortilla chip. Now everyone can eat and enjoy this delicious buffalo chicken dip!
