Introduction: Butter Colored Cookies Recipe

This is a recipe that children love, they can also help make it because it is so easy.

You can also do it on special occasions such as birthdays and it won't take long.

Step 1: Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

½ teaspoon cream tartar

¾ sugar

115g (1 stick) butter

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1 egg

¼ cup of sprinkles and extra to decorate

Food coloring (if you like)

Step 2: Preparation, Making the Dough

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Sift and mix flour, cream tartar and bicarbonate of soda, then add the sugar and mix.

Next add butter, vanilla and egg, and mix well until a dough forms.

TIP 1: Is better to mix it with your hands.

TIP 2: If the dough seems too sticky, add 1 tablespoon more of flour.

Step 3: Preparation, Coloring the Dough and Sprinkles

Divide the dough into 2 equal parts and add the food coloring.

Mix the dough well until the color is homogeneous.

Then add the sprinkles in both parts of the dough and mix them again.

TIP 1: You can use kitchen gloves when mixing the color in the dough.

TIP 2: If the dough seems too sticky whitn the food coloring, add more flour starting with one tablespoon.

Step 4: Preparation: Making the Cookies

Take a bit of each dough and make balls with your hand.

When the ball is ready, on the top put more sprinkles and place them in the baking sheet, leaving a distance of around 5cm between each one.

Bake for about 9-11 minutes or until the cookies are firm, but not brown. Let them cool.

Store in airtight container at room temperature.

They look great on the outside and with colors on the inside, and it's a hit with the kids!!!
