Introduction: CPU Fan Powered Car (Reused)

About: I love robotics and all things electronic. print("Hello World")

If you have read any of my other Instructables, you know I like using leftover food containers for robots. This is a little different, but still fun. Also, this has PLENTY of room for upgrades, so check back regularly.

Supplies

9-12 volt CPU fan

9 v battery and clip

Non-motorized car, preferably flat (reuse an old one)

Tape and/or glue

Soldering iron and gear

Heat gun and tubing

(OPT.) 0.3 micro farad cap

Step 1: Fan Wiring and Tubing

Solder the motor and capacitor. Then, shrink the heat shrink tubing on to the wires. Pull on the tubing to make sure it's tight.

Step 2: Assembly

Tape (or glue) the fan assembly on to the car. Tape the 9v battery on the top and test fan. If it doesn't work solder it together to fix it. Also, make sure there are no obstructions in the way of the blades.

Step 3: Finish!

Set it down on the floor and turn the fan on. Give it a small push and watch. If it works, congratulations!

HAVE FUN, g3holliday
