Introduction: Cardboard Army

Ever since I was a child I've wanted to raise an army of soldiers. Imaginary soldiers, of course.

With a tiny bit of grit and effort, you can create a nearly never-ending army made 100% out of cardboard!

Using this guide you can actually avoid throwing away that cardboard box just laying at the hallway, and transform it into warriors, marines, zombies or alien-like figures!

Supplies

Cardboard

Pen/Pencil/Marker/Crayons

Scissors

Super-glue

Step 1: Draw Outlines

First, we want to mark the outlines for our soldier, and we'll mark them with any writing device (pen/pencil/etc).

Draw a simple human shape, as most details will be drawn later.

Make sure to draw straight lines and avoid curves (it will be hard to cut them properly)

Step 2: Rough Crop and Cut

Use your scissors to crop and cut the figure from the cardboard.

Make sure you leave margins, we will fix them too, don't worry.

Then, cut a 4x6 (cm) rectangle shaped cardboard.

Step 3: Fix Margins

Cut off unnecessary margins, try to work as close as you can to the outlines of your soldier with the scissors.

Step 4: Create a Sword

Cut a 1x10 (cm) thin stripe of cardboard.

Draw the outer and inner lines of a sword, then cut the margins to the outlines in order to create a pointy edge.

Step 5: Glue

Apply a thin layer of glue at the bottom of the soldier. Then, attach the soldier to the "floor" 4x6 rectangle and hold them closely for 3-5 seconds.

After they stick together, do the same at the bottom of the sword and attach it to the soldiers hand.

Step 6: Imagine and Draw

Now that you have a cardboard figure of a soldier, all that's left is to fill it with your imagination.

Use your pen/pencil/etc to draw the soldier of your dreams.

Now that you know the secrets to raising a cardboard army, remember what Uncle Ben told Peter Parker (Spiderman): "With great power comes great responsibility".
