Step 1: The Coins

For this step get your coins you want to sort (decided not to go with the £5 coin!) and lay them over a piece of cardboard in order from smaller to largest. Use a pencil to draw around the top of the coin.

Then draw a line 1-3mm from the bottom of the cardboard all the way across.

Draw boxes around the marks making sure the top line is touching the coin mark at the top as shown in picture.

Step 2: Cutting

Cut out the boxes with a craft knife being very careful not to cut the bottom.

Cut another piece of cardboard the same length and hot glue it to the bottom of the other piece.

Step 3: The Box

BASE: Measure the length and width of the sorter and cut a piece that is about 1cm shorter than your sorter and is 20cm in depth.

BACK: On the back of it, glue a piece the same width and 21cm tall.

SIDES: On the side put L shape pieces (21cm tall & 20cm).

Step 4: Mounting the Sorter

Hot glue the sorter onto the back of the box with a slight angle so it is tilted back and down as show in the picture. To get it to fit against the sides, you will need to trim the parts that 'point' into the sides so that they fit nice and flush.

Step 5: Ramp and Divider

Create the pieces in the photo with an angled side and then make as many as you need to separate the drop zones. I needed 6 because I used 7 coins, then glue it to a piece of cardboard to create a ramp.

Put that piece into the main frame as shown in the picture.

Step 6: Coin Slot

This is the easiest step just make a hole a bit larger than your biggest coin but make sure it aligns with your sorter.

Step 7: The Front

Add a front to the box. I made mine slanted so you can easily take out the coins.

Step 8: Enclosing the Sorter

add pieces of cardboard to cover up the insides and add a roof.

Step 9: TIME TO TEST!

It works perfectly !

Step 10: NOTES

Please note that this is a rough mock-up and you may want to take more time taking exact measurements as you go, to get a better fit - but this should give you the general idea.

I would also recommend using a thicker card than I used (It was an old Amazon box) so that the pieces used are stronger.
