My cat loves to sit on my shelf, therefore I built him his own cat house shelf!
It is a very simple box with 2 columns and my cat loved it from the first moment on.

Step 2: Cutting
I cut all the boards on my table saw,
On my little jigsaw table I cut the circle shapes.
Step 3: Assembling
All parts are simple screwed together.
The back and the side walls got pocket holes, so you can't see any screw later.
Step 4: The Columns
the columns are made with 2 threaded rods and
some piece of blocks and a piece of an old curtain rod.
I cut the threaded rods in length with an angle grinder also two pieces from the curtain rod.
Some pieces of scrap wood got a hole in the middle.
Step 5: Sanding
I sanded all parts very smooth.
Step 6: Painting
I painted all parts with watercolors This works really good.
Later I added a coat of linseed oil.
Step 7: Fix the Columns
I drilled a bigger hole In the bottom for the nut
On the top the threaded rod goes throw the lid and the nut sits on top.
Later I added a little cube with a big hole to cover the rod.
