Introduction: Cheapest Laptop Cooling

Step 1:

Get a 6X3X3 cardboard uncorrigated box.

Or make a box 3X3X(how ever inches in to be aligned with the bottom edge of the dead fans inlet hole from latop front.)

Place High speed small desk fan (or custom flat fan) in to the square hole, should work, haven't tried front way yet because ducting is too weird.

What is a good air flow is as if you are blowing out candels, constanlty.

You need to take off one box flap, or else it will block the vent you targeted.

SIDE NOTE: See the jury rigged wire to the weird thingy at the upper left of the picture?

That is a side 1X1 fan with ducting over that outlet, now used as inlet hole...

Step 1: Step 5

Step 5: the fan away from the wall, more better...
bend thin iron rod

Step 2: Step 1

Cut the bottom out of the 3X3 square end.

Get a plastic water bottle and cut it to just give the vent
it's shape you desire.

Letters J, N, M of keyboard, in picture here, is where air vent is on this model Laptop. You can see slipping the unit straight forward under the Laptop will force air
where you want it when you blow a small high speed desk fan into it from the front.

Note; you may need to seal the funnel to the vent opening for maximum air flow.

Step 3:

Step 3; The fan points into the vent funnel you made.
You can see a specially made fan is best to use so look on the internet.
With arm rests adjusted for the Laptop rise in stature the fan should be out of your way
between your arms.

I used a plastic bottle (spacer) to keep the funnel opened. It has spring to it and the Laptop floats happily on it's stiffness so you don't want an easily crushed spacer...

Step 4:

Step 3:
This is the final working version blowing squirrl cage fan 12v Radioshack # 273-243B
from outside in.
Of course the stock fan is removed for better air flow and seal is from sponge foam and the whole thing is just snugged to the back wall, no nails...
end to the rear vent looks like <=>.

The tag that says 12v on the squirrl fan is the side toward the laptop it is blowing in 33cfm.

It can work from the front too since the 33cfm is right.
