Introduction: Cheese Omlette

This is a very simple, quick, and easy-to-make breakfasts that my family and I really enjoy. A very appealing feature of this recipe is that a lot of the ingredients are optional and it's a very flexible recipe that works with a lot of different combo of spices, meat (peperoni, ham), and vegetables. This recipe, if you want it to be, can be very healthy as well.

Supplies

Ingredients:

  • Vegetables such as Pepper, and onion (cut to preferred size)
  • Spices ( Salt, Pepper, garlic powder, crushed chili pepper, italiano)
  • Ham / pepperoni
  • Cheese ( preferably sprinkled/grated)
  • Egg
  • Oil / Butter
  • Hash brown

Supplies

  • Pan
  • Spatula
  • Fork / butter knife
  • Bowl
  • knife (or the vegetables)
  • cutting board

Step 1: Prepare Cheese and Vegetables

If you want to add vegetables, I suggest you cut up the ones you want to use and keep them ready. If you want to put cheese(I personally love cheese), and you have to grate it or chop it, then you should also prepare this before hand. In my opinion, I prefer sprinkle cheese as it is easier and tastes really good, but you can also use grated cheese or cut up some other types of cheese as well. Today I will be using cut up square cheese, only because I don't have any sprinkle cheese in my fridge right now. I normally use onions and bell peppers, but today I am using only onions.

Step 2: Mix Egg With Spices

In a bowl, crack in as many eggs as desired. Use the fork, or a whisk if you have one, and beat/whisk the yolk and the whites together. Now put in any spices that you want and as much as you want, I personally like to put more prepper and crushed chili pepper, and less salt and italiano, but the amount of spices you put is completely based on preference. Now whisk all of the spices with the egg, so everything looks pretty evenly distributed.

Step 3: Grease Pan

Now without turning the stove on, we want to grease the pan so the egg doesn't stick when we take it off. To do this with oil the easiest way, in my opinion, is to dab a bit onto some paper towel, and then spread it all over the pan, or you can just pour it onto the pan and then rotate the pan until it coats the entire pan. If you want to use butter, you will have to heat up the pan just a bit, the cut some butter o the stick and drop it onto the pan, and it should melt and spread around the pan.

Step 4: Pour the Egg

Now you should turn the stove to low if you have vegetables, or to medium if you don't. I do this because if I put it to medium, then the egg might cook before the vegetables, and then I'll end up having either overcooked egg or undercooked vegetables. Next, you pour the egg on to the pan.

Step 5: Add the Cheese, Veggies, and Meat

Simply put the veggies and the cheese evenly around the pan, on top of the egg. For the meat, if you choose to put one piece I'd put it in the center, or if I have more than one piece I'd put them evenly around. Today I won't be using any.

Step 6: Fold

After a few minutes ( depending on your stove and the heat) you should see the bottom, the side on the pan, starting to solidify and combine. Even if the upper layers are liquidy, now we old the egg in half. To do this you want to put the spatula under the egg, and move it around the circumference of the pan, getting the spatula under as much o the egg as possible. now you want to fold it down the middle and let it cook until the egg looks fully cooked.

Step 7: Serve!

Now that your recipe is done, you want to carefully remove it from the pan using the spatula and move it to a plate and serve. It will most probably be hot, be careful. I personally prefer this recipe alone, without any sauces, but you can try some sauces out and see hoe they taste. ( my eggs got kind of scrambled while I was folding, which shows that folding too earlier can result in your cheese omelet falling apart, whereas folding it too late causes it to end up burned. But trust me, my omelet looked a lot better in person).

Hope you enjoy it!
