Introduction: Children's Room Forest Wall Art

This was a fun project for my son's room, and he was able to help me out too! Take a look at the video for closer instruction on adding leaves, and please subscribe to my Youtube channel: (Will's Wonderful World) for more fun kids videos and DIY projects! Thanks!

Step 1: Step 1: Paint Your Trees

Paint your trees going from base to branches (upwards), using dark grey paint on a light background, or white paint on any dark colored background. Add in lines on the bark of the tree using whatever background color the wall is, to make realistic looking birch trees.

Step 2: Step 2: Make Bird Stencils

Print out bird images by doing an image search for "bird stencils". If you want to hand-draw them, you can do that too! Cut out the stencils and tape them in desired position on your wall.

Step 3: Step 3: Paint Birds

Paint the bird stencils carefully (you may need to tape down the inner corners of the stencil around wings or feathers to make sure the paint does not get past the paper, creating a messy line). When done, remove the paper from the wall to reveal your birds!

Step 4: Step 4: Add Leaves

Draw out the shape of a leaf on an old sponge, (I made two different sizes) and cut it out with scissors. Use this to dip into your paint, and stamp onto the tree wherever you think leaves might look nice. I also created some leaves that look like they are blowing in the wind to draw the eye up to the bird stencils. This project was fun because my son was able to help me stamp the leaves onto the wall in his room as well! If there are any leaves that you don't like, you can wipe them off with a baby wipe (easier to wipe them off if you have glossy base paint on your walls). Enjoy!
