Introduction: Chocolate Chip Sprinkle Cookies

These extra chewy cookies are easy to make and are perfect for a birthday party! They are best when eaten warm or paired with vanilla ice cream!

Step 1: Ingredients

- 2 cups of all-purpose flour

- 1 tsp of baking soda

- 2 tsp of cornstarch

- 3/4 cup of unsalted butter, softened to room temperature

- 1/2 tsp of salt

- 3/4 cup of packed brown sugar

- 1/4 cup of white, granulated sugar

- 2 tsp of vanilla extract

- 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips

- 1 egg

- 1/3 cup of sprinkles (I recommend using either regular or nonpareil sprinkles.)

Step 2: Wet and Dry Ingredients

In a standing electric mixer, beat butter for about 1 minute until pale and fluffy. Once fluffy, add both the brown sugar and white sugar, and beat until smooth.

Add egg and vanilla extract to mix and beat until creamy.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, cornstarch, and baking soda.

Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, and mix on medium speed for 2 minutes.

Step 3: Chocolate Chips & Sprinkles

Stir in chocolate chips. Then stir in sprinkles without crushing them.

Step 4: Chill

Wrap cookie dough tightly in plastic wrap, and chill for 1 hour.

Step 5: Prepare

Preheat oven to 350˚F.

Once dough is done chilling, roll into 1" to 1-1/2" in diameter balls, and place on cookie sheet at least 1/4" apart.

Step 6: Bake

Bake cookies for 8-10 minutes. Once out of oven, cookies will be slightly raw in center, but leave them to cool for a couple minutes, and they will cook in the pan while cooling.

Enjoy! These cookies are perfect for a birthday party!
