Introduction: Clap on Clap Off Circuit Using Transistors

Hello, In this tutorial i showed you how to create a simple clap on clap off switch without using any IC's. Now there are lot of videos on Youtube and Instructables that show how to make a clap switch, but the problem is that they use the same concept of using a 555 Timer IC in combination with a peak detector so that when they clap the capacitor gets charged and then it passes it's energy to the LED. But the remains on for a minute (Barely) And you can't even turn it off via a clap. In order to make this clap switch practical I Made a clap on clap off switch that uses a transistor which amplifies the signals of a electret condensor microphone and sends it to a circuit called Bistable Flip-Flop which is just called the flip flop and what it do is when you give an input it outputs 0 (in this case the LED Will turn off) and if you again give an input, It will output 1 (LED Will glow) So here's the Parts List-

Resistors R1=15KΩ, R5,R6=1.5KΩ R2,R11,R12=2.2MΩ, R13=2.2KΩ R3=270KΩ, R4=3.3KΩ R7,R8=10KΩ, R9,R10=27KΩ

Capacitors C1=1000µf/16v C2=.01µf,C3,C4=.047µf

Semi Conductors Q1,Q2,Q3= BC548 D2,D3,D4= IN 4148 D1,D5=IN 4007, Q4=BC368

Misc T1=12v/500mA Transformer

Mic= Condenser Microphone

K1= 12V Relay

B1= Bulb or Load

Note that the parts list and the scheme is for a clap switch that can turn off turn on an Bulb on its output, I showed you an example with a LED But you can add an relay and control various appliances with a clap.
