Introduction: Cleaning the Grime From My Engine.
After replacing the valve cover gasket on my civic, I wanted a clean up of the engine block. Too much grime on it over the years and even though it works very well, I want to know if there is future oil weeping.
Step 1: Cleaning!
Using engine degreaser I sprayed a generous amount of it on the engine. I let That soak for 10 minutes and then I used my hose and a shop towel to clean off the engine.
Alot of grime fell off!
Step 2: A Cleaner Engine!
Now the engine is much cleaner in appearance. I took her for a test drive after letting the water drip out for 30 minutes. She ran oh so fine!

Nice job! I'm not familiar with the particular de-greaser that you used, but many of them have directions that say you should warm up the engine just a bit (not hot) before spraying the de-greaser on. It's a tough, nasty job, so anything that makes it easier is a useful benefit!

hey thanks! luckily temperatures in my country are hot so there is not such thing as a "cold" engine here.
