Introduction: Clip on Desk Lamp!(Attaches to Your Laptop)
This practical and portable lamp is great for working in dark places. It only cost me $1.00. It is built from a plastic clothes pin, stainless steel shim, and a LED puck light.
Step 1: Materials and Tools Needed
Materials.
Plastic Clothes Pin
Sturdy Metal Shim approximately 0.5" wide and 5.0" long.
3" diameter LED Puck Light from the hardware store.
Tools.
Either Hot Glue and Glue Gun, Super Glue, or Epoxy will work.
Step 2: Glue the Shim to the Pin.
Mix up your epoxy and heat up your guns. Now simply glue the metal shim on the back side of one of the handles.
Step 3: Attach the LED Puck Light.
Now at the other end of the shim you will want to spread on some glue leaving a 3/4" (0.75") gap between the edge of the Puck and the handle of the clothes pin. Simply press and firmly attach the LED Light Puck.
Step 4: Attach the Light to the Laptop Screen.
Now just pinch open the Pin and attach the light to the top of the screen. Bend the lamp to the angle you like then turn of the lights and turn on your new Desk Lamp!

I don't usually use my laptop or netbook in the dark, but I'm looking at this and it's just to cool to not use. I was thinking on my Kindle, and I've used Kindle lights before, but if the light's too bright and too close the reflexions drive me GaGa.. I'm thinking some kind of diffuser and maybe a longer shim. Anybody got an idea???
