Introduction: Cookie Bars

Brandon and I made a pan of delicious cookie bars. We made these because they are simple and easy for an after-school snack.

Step 1: Ingredients and Tools

Ingredients

¾ Cup White Sugar

¾ Cup Brown Sugar

2 Eggs

½ Cup Butter

½ Cup Crisco

1 Tsp Baking Soda

1 Tsp Salt

1 Tsp Vanilla

½ Tsp Vanilla Extract

3 Cup Flour

1 12 oz. Bakers Corner Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels

1/2 12 oz. Bakers Corner Butterscotch Morsels (optional)

Tools

13in x 15in Cookie Sheet

multiple sized measuring cups

Step 2: The Cookie Dough

Pre-heat oven to 350F. Mix 3/4 cup of white sugar, 3/4 cup of brown sugar, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup of soften butter, 1/2 cup of Crisco, 1 tsp of baking soda, 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of vanilla, and 1/2 tsp of water: mix on speed 2 or 3 until ingredients are well combined and creamy. Add 3 cups of flour 1 cup at a time until dough is thick. Add the 1 12oz. bag of Bakers Corner semi-sweet chocolate morsels and you 1/2 12oz. bag of Butterscotch morsels and mix by hand until the chocolate chips are spread evenly throughout the dough.

Step 3: Time to Bake

After you have your dough mixed up, you are going to want to have your cookie sheet ready to go. Take your non-stick cooking spray and spray your 13x15" cookie sheet with a nice, even coat. Then take your batter and put in on the sheet and spread the dough evenly over the sheet (make sure you get the dough in the corners). When you have the dough spread on the sheet, you are now ready to put it in the oven for 18-20 minutes. Check the bars periodically. The bars are ready to come out of the oven when the top is a golden brown. Let the cookie bars sit and cool for about 5-10 minutes. After they are cooled, cut and enjoy!
