This instructable will show you how to make a blowgun that you can disassemble and stash in almost any small container.

Warning: This can be vary dangerous Do not shoot people or animals with needle tipped darts. It is very painful (I know from experience) and could cause serious damage. the Q-tip darts sting from close range and could possibly poke out an eye. Do not shoot animals with Q-tip darts. If you have a war using Q-tip darts I suggest you wear safety glasses. I AM NOT RESPNSIBLE FOR ANYTHING YOU DO BY ACCIDENT, YOUR OWN STUPIDITY, OR OTHERWISE!!!

Step 1: Tools and Supplies

Supplies
Blowgun:
Pens (removable point and end cap and both ends of same diameter)
toilet paper tube (or paper towel tube)
tape (I used electrical and packing in my initial build, I then made a new holder out of duct tape and it works much better than packing tape.)

Darts:
q-tips
needles (sewing needles are better than straight pins because they are stronger, its ok if the eye is broken)
shoelaces (can be old) or shoelace tips with at least a half inch of lace still attached.

Tools:
scissors
needle nose pliers ( help make needle dart)
sandpaper (not shown)

Step 2: Blowgun Assembly Part 1

Take your toilet paper tube and cut it into 4 equal pieces. Take your pens and disassemble them. You should have a hollow tube, the ink cartridge and point of the pen and the end cap. Then take each piece and roll it tightly around one of the ink cartridges of one of the pens you disassembled. You do this to give each piece of toilet paper tube a nice curve to make later steps easier.

Step 3: Blowgun Assembly Part Two

Take each of the pieces of toilet paper tube and roll it tightly around one of the pen bodies and tape it so that it will not unroll. Then slide the boy of the pen out of this new tube. Repeat this with all of your pieces of the toilet paper tube. These will be the joints that hold the pen together.

Step 4: Blowgun Assembly Part Three

Take each body of a pen and sand both ends at an angle so that they taper slightly. This will make assembly easier. Then test all of them by sliding the bodies of the pen into the tubes you made in the last step. If they slide in relatively smoothly then you are finished sanding. If they do not then continue sanding until they do. You have now completed all of the main pieces of the blowgun.

Step 5: Blowgun Final Assembly

Insert each pen body into the tube you made until it reaches the center. then insert the next pen body and repeat until you have assembled the entire blowgun.

Step 6: Needle Darts

Take the shoelaces and cut them so they have about half an inch or a little less of the lace still attached. If need be cut part of the hard tip off to make it easier to shove a needle through. Then take a needle, I used needles with broken eyes, and push it from the frayed end of the shoelace tip through the part covered in plastic until the point sticks out the front and the back is completely covered. It helps if you use needle nosed pliers to pull on the tip of the needle when it becomes visible.

I have seen these on many instructables and other sites. I do not know where I first saw them so I am not giving credit to any individual person.

Step 7: Q-tip Darts

You can fire plain Q-tips for short range targets such as people in a ninja war, they do sting a little so get the persons permission before you shoot.

If you want a little longer range then you can cut one end off at an angle then rotate the Q-tip 90 degrees and cut the very tip again to give it a slight point. (Warning these fly a lot farther and sting a lot more so only use at longer range.

Step 8: Covert Blowgun Holder

Take each of the pen bodies and each of the connector tubes and wrap them one time around with tape with the sticky side out. then press each of the tape covered sections together and wrap this with tape sticky side in. This allows you to slide the parts in for storage and out for you and you don't have to worry about anything sticking.

Step 9: End

Pack it up by disassembling the blow gun,then slide the pen tubes in the smaller sections of the holder and the connectors in the larger. Then stick the Q-tip darts in the connectors and the pen darts in the pen tubes.

I am trying to find a good replacement for the toilet paper tube connectors so if anyone can give me a good replacement I will put them in this instructable.
