Introduction: Crispy Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

These chocolate oatmeal cookies come out of the oven yummy and soft, and then crisp up deliciously overnight. They are super simple and tasty so you should definitely give them a try. Plus, they please the oatmeal-raisin and the chocolate-chip lovers!

Step 1: Gather Ingredients

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Then, begin gathering the following ingredients:

1 cup butter

1 1/2 cups sugar

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp baking soda

3 oz dark, semi-sweet, or unsweetened chocolate (depending on preferred sweetness level)

1 egg

1 tsp vanilla

1 1/4 cups flour (all-purpose)

1 1/2 cups rolled oats

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Step 2: Combine Ingredients

With an electric mixer, beat the butter for 30 seconds. Then add the sugar, baking powder, and baking soda. Beat until mixed. Add the melted chocolate, egg, and vanilla and mix, then beat in the flour. Stir in the oats and the chocolate chips.

Step 3: Prep for Baking and Bake

Form the dough into balls, about 1 in in diameter each. Place the balls onto an ungreased baking sheet.

Put into the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes.

Step 4: Enjoy!

Enjoy your yummy cookies! I made mine into ice cream sandwiches, but they're yours to do with what you choose... :)
