Introduction: Cute Animal-themed Cootie Catcher With Printable Templates

This is a cute twist to the classic origami fold for a

cootie catcher. Here, I have included four animal templates, a shark, blue bunny, pink bunny, and a chick, provided by Easy Peasy Crafts.

Step 1: Print the Templates

Step 2: Cut It Out

Cut out the outline of all the pieces of the Cootie Catcher.

Step 3: Finding the Centre

Fold it diagonally twice on two perpendicular axes, where the two creases intersect is the centre point or centroid of the square.

Step 4: Fold the Corners

First, make sure you are facing the textured side of the paper. Then, fold the corners of the paper inwards with the tip of the corner aligned right at the centroid of the square.

Step 5: Flip and Fold

Flip the piece of paper over so you are facing the white/blank side of the paper.

Do the same thing as before, fold each of the corners to the centroid of this now smaller square piece of paper.

Step 6: Form It

This is the only slightly tricky step.

Flip it to the front side again. Now take four of your fingers and slide it in onto each of the pockets and push your fingers together to form the Cootie Catcher shape.

If you're finding it difficult. Crease it vertically and horizontally. The push it inward with your fingers. It should form the Cootie Catcher shape naturally!

Step 7: Glue the Accessories.

Glue the fins of the shark to the top and side for the flippers. In the case of the bunny, glue the ears on top and legs on the bottom then fold crease it along the glue mark. Same applies to the cute little chick.
