Introduction: DIY Pocket Key Organiser
Most of us are faced with the daily struggle of the common key ring. Since the keys are free to move around, there is always some jangling sound made notifying others of your arrival. Or when a key ring and a cellphone are placed in the same pocket, things get nasty. And there's always the 'looking for the right key' routine every time we need to unlock a door.
Does this sound familiar to you? Well, look no further. In this Instructable, you will learn how to make a simple, no-fuss pocket key organiser to help you to tame your keys. This would make a great gift for someone with several keys or someone who likes getting organised.
Step 1: Materials
To make the pocket key organiser, you will need the following materials:
i) 2 identical flat straight brackets (the ones used in the example were 75mm or about 2 inches in length)
ii) 2 sets of screws and nuts (preferably size m5)
iii) Washers (size identical to screws and nuts)
iv) Your keys
Note:
The length of the brackets is completely up to you. The longer the brackets, the less the keys jut out of the holder. If you're adventurous, you can even make the brackets yourself!
The length of the screws and nuts as well as the number of washers depends on the number of keys you want to hold (the keys are arranged in the order washer, key, washer, key, washer).
A 15mm or 0.5 inch screw can accommodate 1 key and 2 washers while a 20mm or 0.7 inch screw can accommodate 4 keys and 5 washers.
Step 2:
Thread the two screws through the last holes on both ends of one bracket.
Step 3:
Thread a washer on each screw followed by the two keys.
Step 4:
Thread another two washers on each screw. You can repeat step 2 and 3 over and over again depending on the number of keys you have.
If you have an odd number of keys, use 2 washers to replace the missing key.
Step 5:
Finally, place the other bracket on top. Fasten the nuts onto the ends of both screws and tighten. The fit should be almost perfect.
Step 6: DIY Pocket Key Organiser Complete!
The DIY Pocket Key Organiser is complete! The completed product is sleek, compact and silent when carried around. This project is rather inexpensive compared to other pocket key holders in the market, and it turned out great. I hope you will be able to make one too!

These things are trending so hard right now. Two of my friends just bought ones, but I bet I could make one ten times better looking than theirs. Good job!
