Introduction: Danish "Pølsehorn" Recipe

Homemade and easy danish "pølsehorn". "Pølsehorn" are good for outside and at home, cold and warm. They can be frozen and easily reheated in the microwave for the next day. They can also be made with marmalade or Nutella for the sweet tooth.

Supplies

  1. Butter 25g
  2. Milk 250 ml
  3. Yeast 25g
  4. Sugar 2 tsp
  5. Salt 1 tsp
  6. Wheat flour 400g
  7. Vienne sausages 6
  8. 1 Egg beaten

Step 1:

Melt the butter in a pan and add the milk. Pour the mixture into a bowl and stir the yeast into it.

Step 2:

Add the other ingredients (reserve some flour for later steps). Mix well.

Step 3:

Cover the bowl with, for example, a lid and leave the dough to rise in a warm place for approx. 1 hour.

Step 4:

Take the dough out onto a floured board and knead it well.

Step 5:

Roll out the dough into a square (approx. 25 x 40 cm) and divide the dough along the long side. Cut each piece of dough into 3 squares. Divide each square diagonally so that they each form 2 triangles.

Step 6:

Divide the sausages in half and roll the dough around the sausages from the wide end. (You can add ketchup or mustard or leave them empty here, watch out that you don't overfill with ketchup as it will harden!)

Step 7:

Place the "Pølsehorn" with the pointy end downwards on a sheet of baking paper and let them rise, covered, for approx. 15 minutes

Step 8:

Brush them with the beaten egg and sprinkle them optionally with sesame seeds. Bake them in the middle of the oven - until they are golden.

Baking time ca. 20 min at 200° c
