Introduction: Diy Compass Using a Magnet

A compass have played a grate role in the old days so that is why I am going to show you how to make one of the first compasses

Supplies

  1. Bowl
  2. Water
  3. Magnet
  4. Needle
  5. Sellotape
  6. Cork

Step 1: Magnifying the Needle

  1. Using the magnet rube the one side of the magnet on the point of the needle for 1 min
  2. Then press the needle through the cork

Step 2: Finishing Your Compass

  1. Fill the bowl with water
  2. let the cork with the needle float (do not let the needle touch the side)

one side of the needle should point north and the other south
