Step 1: Supplies and Tools

Supplies
Duct tape
Thin Card Board
Binder (for measuring)
grommet kit (optional)

Tools
Scissors
Pencil
Sharpie
Hobby Knife

Step 2: Start the Wrapping

To make this instructable you must start by wrapping the pencil will duct tape. You must wrap it with the sticky side out so the pencil doesn't stick to it. Wrap it 2 times around.

Once you are about to wrap the pencil for the 2nd time, put less then a quarter of one side of the tape on the piece that you put on the pencil before. You must do this so the pieces stick together.

Step 3: Clean Up the Wrapping

Now you must wrap the duct tape again this time the sticky side will be touching the sticky side of the tape already on the pencil. Start wrapping with a little piece of excess duct tape at the end of the pencil. Just wrap it one time around. Once you are done with this step you should just see the top part of the pencil (the bottom of it).

Step 4: Cutting the Card Board

Now that your done with the wrapping you will have to cut the cardboard to reinforce the part that you will make the holes in. First draw a rectangle that is 7 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. These measurements are for a brand new pencil. Once you are done cutting move onto the next step.

Step 5: Attaching the Cardboard

First start by wrapping the pencil compartment and the cardboard together. You any need one wrap for a medium thickens cardboard. If you  are using a really thin cardboard or construction paper wrap it at east 3 times around. Wrap it until the cardboard is connected to the pencil compartment. If you can see any card board wrap it with smaller strips of duct tape.

Step 6: Making the Ring Holes

In order to make the holes for the rings, you need to  mark the spots where they will go. Put the duct tape pencil holder next to the rings in a binder. Now mark the spots next to the rings where the holes will go. Now cut along the lines of the "x" that you just made. Once you are done get a pencil and push the pencil through the cut you just made. Now your done!

Step 7: The Finished Product.
