Introduction: Easy Home Decor

This sign is simple and easy to make, and is the perfect touch for an empty shelf.

Supplies

  • old pallet wood
  • 60-grit sandpaper
  • wood stain
  • hot glue
  • colored glitter
  • chip brush
  • band saw

Step 1: Preparing the Wood

Cut a piece of wood to your own specifications. (My board is 8 by 5.25 inches) Roughly sand the wood using 60-grit sandpaper. Last, stain the wood with dark brown wood stain.

Step 2: Adding the Letters

Using a pencil, add fancy lettering to the front of the sign.

Step 3: Decorating the Letters

Apply hot glue to the letters you penciled on in the last step. While the glue is still soft, liberally cover it with colored glitter. When the glue is hardened, after about five minutes, remove the excess glitter with a chip brush.

Step 4: Decorate
