Introduction: Easy Miniature Hut With Balsa Wood

About: Software Architect & Robotics Engineer

I always loved to create miniature figures using Simple tools and materials, and I also found that as a very good solution to escape way from the daily pressures of life by doing something you love and in this simple tutorial, I show you how to build a small wooden hut using balsa wood.

I used balsa wood because Balsa is one of the lightest woods. It comes from the Ochroma pyramidale tree, which grows in South and Central America. Actually, it's more of a huge flowering weed than a tree. It lives in isolation -- it's impossible to create a balsa forest.

So enough talking and let's go to work ...

Step 1: Tools

  1. Craft knife
  2. Tiny screwdriver
  3. Tweezer
  4. Tiny pliers

Step 2: Design

Drawing the blueprints on Adobe Illustrator

I used to visualize any model and draw it first in order to get the right size and imagine it before the implementation phase.

and the design is available to download here

Step 3: Cut of the Shapes Out of the Wood

Using any craft knife just follow the lines and cut it all of it

Step 4: Assembling & Decoration

Just Glow the wall parts using white glow or any liquid adhesive and to give it a real look, I used coffee stirrers to frame the door and windows.
