Introduction: Easy Pumpkin Spice Latte
Make your own Pumpkin Spice Latte at home, with or without an espresso maker!
Using real pumpkin puree makes this SOOOOO much better than Starbuck's pumpkin spice latte - and making it at home makes it so much more affordable too! You can make it sugar-free, dairy-free, whatever you like! I would drink this every day - but probably skip the whipped cream (well, maybe every other day. . .).

Step 1: Ingredients
Of course you can make this recipe with pre-made Pumpkin Spice Syrup, but I don't know where to buy that, and I'm pretty sure it's not available all year 'round anyway. So I substituted actual canned pumpkin. If you can only find pumpkin pie filling, you can use that too! Just cut out the extra sugar and spices.
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons canned pumpkin
1 teaspoon sugar or sugar substitute
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
2 shots espresso (or really strong coffee if you don't have access to an espresso maker - which I don't)
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons canned pumpkin
1 teaspoon sugar or sugar substitute
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
2 shots espresso (or really strong coffee if you don't have access to an espresso maker - which I don't)
Step 2: Brew Some High-octane Coffee
If you have an espresso maker, you'll do this step last. But if you don't, you'll want to get your coffee brewing now.

Step 3: Prepare Milk Solution
Now is time to prepare your coffee's milk bath.
If you have a steam wand on your espresso maker, completely combine milk, pumpkin, sugar, vanilla and spice, and froth it up. Once you've achieve a nice head, sink the wand in to heat the milk. Make sure you clean your steam wand immediately!

Step 4: Assemble
If you don't have access to a frother, combine the milk, pumpkin and sugar in a bowl and microwave for approximately one to two minutes, stirring every 30 seconds.
After your milk is heated, add 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice and 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
Give it a good whirl with a frother or immersion blender.
Gently add your coffee or espresso to the milk.

Step 5: Decorate
Dress your pumpkin spice latte with some freshly whipped cream, a cinnamon stick, and some fresh shaved nutmeg, and you've just shown Starbucks where to stick it!
