Introduction: Easy Shepherd Sling

About: I enjoy making knifes, leather projects, amateur jewelry and what ever else I can get into! I also have a YouTube channel with other projects! Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee…
I am sure all of you have heard the account of David and Goliath. How the Lord gave Goliath into David's hands using a Shepherds sling. I have always wanted a shepherds sling so today I am going to show you how to make a simple and easy sling (you will have to figure out how to use it yourself lol I'm still trying to figure it out myself).

Supplies

MATERIALS
Swayed leather
Paracord

EQUIPMENT
Good pair of scissors
Lighter
Pen

Step 1: Designing the Pocket

So the first thing we need to do is cut out a pocket for the stones to fit in. I am going to use swayed leather but you could use anything that's strong enough to hold a stone. To make the shape of the pocket I take a oval pattern and add wings on each side, it's not perfect but it works!

Step 2: Cutting the Pocket Out

Next take a good pair of scissor and cut out your pocket.

Tip: if you are planning on doing more leather projects I suggest having a designated pair of scissors for leather and only use them to cut leather, they will stay sharp and make your job easier.

Step 3: Punch Holes

Now that we have cut it out take a sharp awl or a nail and make two holes in each wing of the pocket.

Step 4: Putting the Paracord on

Ok for the paracord your length is going to vary depending on your height, I am 6' 4" and made my sling a little over two feet long. So I ended up cutting two, four feet strands of paracord. I Then folded them in half and pushed the two ends through the holes on each side. Then to finish it up I tied a knot on one end and a slip knot on the other end to make a loop for your middle finger

Step 5: Finished and Man This Thing Is Dangerous!

And your finished! This is honestly one of the fastest projects I've done and you could pretty much use anything laying around your house to make one! The only advice I can give you on using the sling is the loop of the slip knot goes around your middle finger and you hold the knot between your ring and pointing finger (Oh and be careful).
I hope you enjoyed this instructable and make a shepherds sling your self! If you do please let me know I'd love to see how it turns out! Thanks!
