About: I am a wife and a mother of two. I love reading, biking, kayaking and playing the recorder.

In this instructable I will show you how to make super easy cornbread.

Step 1: Ingredients

For this recipe, you will need:

2 c self-rising cornmeal

1 3/4 c buttermilk

2 eggs

1/8 tsp salt

2 tbsp vegetable oil & 1/4 c vegetable oil

Step 2: Oh the Iron(y)

Pour 1/4 c of vegetable oil in a cast iron skillet and heat on top of the stove set to medium high heat.

Step 3: The Hardest Part of This Recipe (is Very Simple)

In a large bowl, mix everything else together thoroughly.

Step 4: You're Almost Done!

Pour the batter into your cast iron skillet that has been heated up.

Step 5: From the Top to the Bottom

Remove the skillet from the top of the stove and place in an oven that's been preheated to 400° for 25-30, or until golden brown.

Step 6: Enjoy!

If you make this, let me know what you think!!

Looks delicious! Glad to see you didn't add sugar - southern cornbread is not sweet!
