Easy Sticky Note Butterflies

All you need are colorful square sticky notes! These easy origami butterflies will be quick fun for all sorts of occasions.

Supplies

Sticky Notes or square pieces of paper

Step 1: Gather Supplies

Any size sticky note will work as long as it is square. This will also work with any square piece of paper.

Step 2: First Fold

Fold the paper in half from corner to corner, making a triangle with the sticky edge on the inside.

Step 3: Repeat on Other Side

Unfold the paper and fold it in half the other way from corner to corner, again making a triangle with the sticky edge inside.

Step 4: Fold in Half

Unfold the paper and fold it in half so the straight sides line up and the sticky edge is on the outside.

Step 5: Next Fold

Unfold the paper and fold it in half the other way so the straight sides line up. Keep the sticky edge on the outside.

Step 6: Make a Triangle

Fold the two sides in, as shown, making a triangle. The sticky edge is one of the parts that was folded in.

Step 7: Turn and Fold the Triangle

Turn the triangle upside down. Fold part the triangle down as shown. Repeat for the other side.

Step 8: Make a Little Triangle

Take the part of the paper directly underneath the parts that were just folded and fold it back. Make sure you fold enough of it to make a little triangle above the straight edge.

Step 9: Make the Wings

Fold the little triangle piece over the straight edge. This will stop the lower wings of the butterfly from laying flat.

Step 10: Finish the Butterfly

Fold what you have in half, folding the little triangle inward to finish your butterfly.
