Fast Edge Pulse Generator - Ultra Fast Square Wave Pulse Generator

This simple circuit, using a 74HC14N (six TTL inverters with low slew rate) it is capable of generating square wave signals up to 10MHZ. Ideal for some electronics testing.

With a rotary switch it is possible to select a frequency range from a few tens of Hz up to approximately 10MHz.

Two potentiometers (coarse and fine adjustment) allows you to adjust the frequency.

All components are mounted directly on the board, requiring no box to finish it, because it is a workbench assistant.

Step 1: BOARD AND SCHEMATICS

See the figure 1 and 2 that are the generator board layout and schematics respectively

The assembly is not critical, but the 74HC14N component can not be replaced by another one, it has to be the HC .

The potentiometers are 20K (coarse) and 4K7 (fine), if you do not have a potentiometer of 4K7, use one of 10K in parallel with a fixed 4K7 resistor.

The power is 5VDC (source not included, ie external source must be used).

The PCB was handmade even .....
