Question 7 months ago on Introduction

Help needed ASAP please? I'm following your instructions as well as I can but keep ending up with way too many pedals like eight for example so I must be doing something wrong. I find it confusing when you say go back into the same stitch each time. It should turn out with 10 stitches from the first single crochet round, it should work but somehow even though I'm being really careful it's not. Could you please clarify how to get only five petals? Thank you for your help! I'm trying to finish a newborn hat..

    Hi Rorys, 😊
yup......that's total 10 stitches.... so you will end up with 5 petals..... i.e ...2 stitches per petal......
    Chain 4, 1 trbl -- 1st stitch
2trbls, chain 3,1 SC into the same trbl ---- 2nd stitch.
....likewise you should have 8 sts left..... 2 for each....that's how u will get 5 petals.
.....I guess u might b making these sts all in the same st.....
....I hope this is helpful.......Plz do let me know....😊

Thank you for your reply. I finally figured it out but your instructions as written are a bit confusing in the main entry as to where and when you go into the same stitch. I actually had to go into one stitch over each time in order to end up with only five petals. It's just confusing especially to a newbie.

That would be awesome...thank you! I even watched the video several times, but you are so fast it was hard for a beginner to follow....However, I think I finally figured out that you do have to move over to a new stitch at least one of the times when the instructions say to stay in the same stitch...or maybe I was just not understanding correctly. Anyway, I finally figured it out and here's the hat with the flower so thank you for all of your help!

PS The website would not let me add an image for some reason either.
Update, I can add an image while on a computer, just not from my phone.
