Even when you are stuck indoors on a hot summer day, whether stapling photocopies of mail circulars at work, or doing the dishes at home, you would love to sit back with an ice cold drink to reminisce the last holiday you took at the beach.

In order to help you with half of that midsummer daydream fantasy, I'll show you how to make a Frozen Lemon Ice Black Tea to blow away your summer boredom.

Step 1: Brew a Glass of Cold Black Tea

Since we are making cold black tea, the first step is to brew black tea that is smooth, aromatic, and delicious.

We love to keep a cold brew of black tea in the fridge so we can use it to blend and mix different drinks on the fly.

The cold brew can be made with 5 teaspoons of loose black tea leaves (5-7 g) for every 6 ounces (177 ml), and be left in the fridge overnight to brew.

The cold brew is the best starting point here because you don't need to add a lot of ice to cool the drink down and risk diluting the drink too much.

Step 2: Create Ice Cubes From Tiny Lemon Bits

The name Frozen Lemon Ice Black Tea does come from the ingredient of "frozen lemon ice", where lemon bits are frozen in ice to introduce more lemon flavour to the drink as the ice melts.

So, slice up half of a lemon into tiny cubes, around half an inch by half an inch (1.27 cm by 1.27 cm), and sprinkle the lemons into an ice tray with water.

Proceed to put the ice tray into the fridge, as you would to make normal ice, and wait until the lemon bits become frozen cubes.

Step 3: Add Lemon Ice Cubes to Your Black Tea

Once the lemon ice cubes are fully formed, toss them into your Black Tea.

Step 4: Add in the Rest of the Lemon Slices and Enjoy Your Black Tea

For the other half of the lemon you chopped up earlier, you want to slice it up into thin slices so it can start dispensing lemon flavour as soon as it hits the Black Tea.

Then sit back, and kick off your sandals to feel the warm sand between your toes and the cool sea breeze through your hair.
