Margaritas, the cool and refreshing lime cocktail, or in this case, mocktail. Virgin margaritas are perfect for anyone to drink on Cinco de Mayo, or anytime you want to have a fiesta! This recipe makes 3 8oz frozen margaritas.

To enjoy the tart flavor sensation minus the alcohol, here's what you'll need:

Supplies:

  • Paper towels
  • Paper plates
  • Dry measuring cups (1 cup & 1/3 of a cup)
  • Liquid measuring cup (At least 1 cup)
  • Cutting board
  • Paring knife
  • 3 cups
  • 3 straws
  • Blender
  • Trash bag

Ingredients:

  • Frozen limeade concentrate
  • Orange juice
  • 1 lime
  • Ice
  • Granulated white sugar

Step 1: Let's Get Rolling

Roll out your lime on the cutting board. This helps break down the lime to release any juice. If you limes are not ripe, this will help you yield much more juice.

Step 2: Cut the Lime, Not Your Fingers

With the paring knife, carefully cut the ends off the lime to make flat ends. The lime won't roll around if it is standing on one of the flat ends, which reduces the risk of injury.

Step 3: I've Got Half a Lime...

Stand lime on one of the flat ends, then cut in half. Set aside of the halves for later use.

Step 4: Divide the Lime

Cut the lime half in half lengthwise to make 2 quarter-sized wedges. Then cut the lime quarters in half lengthwise to make 4 eighth-sized wedges. You should have 4 wedges once done cutting, an eighth the size of the lime. Set the wedges aside for later use.

Step 5: Plug It In

Carefully plug in blender into outlet.

Step 6: Get Juicy

Measure 1/3 cup of orange juice using liquid measuring cup. Remove blender lid and pour in orange juice.

Note: The orange juice adds the flavor of triple sec without the alcohol

Step 7: Ice Ice Baby

With the 1 cup dry measuring cup, measure out 2 cups of ice and add to blender.

Step 8: Add the Limeade

Pull the tab around the frozen limeade concentrate can and remove lid. Add the limeade concentrate to the blender. Throw away limeade can trash.

Step 9: Pour Some Sugar in Me

Measure 1/3 of granulated white sugar using the 1/3 dry measuring cup. Pour sugar into blender.

Step 10: Blend It Up!

Place lid on blender. Blend on high on the icy drink setting for 20 seconds.

Note: Use a timer to help you keep track of time

Step 11: Little Bit of Freshness

Remove blender lid. Pick up the reserved lime half and squeeze into blender until most of the juice is removed. Place lid on blender. Blend for 10 seconds.

Note: If your hands are sticky, wipe them on a paper towel.

Step 12: Ring Around the Rim

Pick up one of the wedges and rub around the rim of all 3 glasses. Wipe any lime juice off the sides that may have run down the glass with a paper towel.

Step 13: Little Extra Sweetness

Put a small pile of sugar onto the paper plate. Shake the plate to distribute the sugar across the plate. Roll the rims of all 3 glasses in the sugar.

Step 14: Pour Yourself a Drink

Remove blender lid. Carefully pour the virgin margarita into liquid measuring cup and measure out 8oz. Repeat for the remaining 2 glasses.

Step 15: Final Touches

Garnish by gently pushing lime onto rim of glass. Place straw into cup.

Step 16: Enjoy Your Paradise in a Glass!

Sip your virgin margarita through your straw and be whisked away to paradise!
