Introduction: Game: ESL Paddocks

This ESL game is based off the game that I knew as “Paddocks”. It is hard to describe without watching it being played. The teacher first draws up a grid of dots, assigns teams, then students take turns practicing class content and throwing a sticky ball at the grid. If the ball lands in the center of an empty “grid dot box” (one that isn’t a square yet), then the student may draw a line from one dot to another. The students get one point for successfully placing a line, and two points for also finishing a complete square.
