Halloween is the time when we can adorn ourselves anf decorate our houses with ghosts. So this time we decided to decorate our house with tiny cute ''Glowing ghost''. Combining fiber arts with electronics has always been our aim, so we decided to go ahead with crochet and led lights to make this cute thing.

You will need the following

1. Yarn
2. Crochet hook 4.5 mm
3. Scissor
4. Coin cell battery CR2032
5. Led
6. Needle

Let's start!!

Step 1: Crochet the Ghost

Round 1

Make a magic ring and then make 6 single crochet into the ring.

Step 2:

Round 2
Make 2 single crochet in each of the 6 single crochet made earlier. That makes it 12 single crochet at the end of this round.

Round 3
Make 1 single crochet in the next stitch and 2 single crochet in the alternate stitches. That makes it 18 single crochet at the end of this round.

Step 3:

Round 4
Place a marker, I have placed an orange marker to indicate the first crochet of each round and continue making 1 single crochet in each crochet. That makes it 18 single crochet at the end of this round.

Round 5
Repeat round 4.That makes it 18 single crochet at the end of this round.

It will look like the photo below.

Step 4: Make the Eyes of the Ghost

Round 6

Now we shall make the eyes of the ghost. This can be a bit tricky. So imagine we have 18 single crochet. We need to make 2 gaps for the 2 eyes and crochet the rest of it.

Make single crochet into each of the 5 previous single crochet.
Then chain 2, skip the 6th and the 7th crochet and join in the 8th crochet with a single crochet. This will be the hole for the first eye.
Make a single crochet each of the 9th and 10th crochet .
Then again chain 2 and skip the 11th and 12th crochet and join in the 13th crochet. This will be the hole for the 2nd eye.
Make single crochet on the rest of the 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th single crochet.

It will look like the photo below with the holes for the two eyes. Hang on, we are almost there.

Step 5: Mouth of the Ghost

Round 7

Make 1 single crochet in each of the single crochet.

Round 8

This is the round where we make the mouth of the ghost. It is relatively pretty simple. Like the eyes we need to make a gap for the mouth. So we will be making the gap between the two eyes. Lets start!!

Make 8 single crochet, then chain 2 and join into the 11th crochet. Then continue single crochet from the 11th till the 18th.

Step 6:

Round 9 till Round 11

Make single crochet in each of the single crochet.

Round 12

Make a Picot stitch on each of the single crochet.

How to make a Picot stitch?
Chain 3, make a single crochet on the first chain of chain 3. and join into the next crochet.
Thus there will be 18 picot stitches at the end of the ghost like the frills of a gown.

Your done with crocheting.

Step 7:

Take some strands of thread, fold them into half and cut them , fold them again into half and cut them. Tie them up and attach them to the top of the head as shown in the pic with a needle.

Step 8:

Attach the 2 leds, preferably white to the 2 coin cell batteries (CR2032).

Step 9:

Insert the 2 battery-led pairs in each of the eyes and hurray, your Glowing ghost is done!!!!

I have attached a heart to make it a lovable ghost. :)
