Introduction: Groot Nail Art

About: Whether you just need the final touches on your enchanted castle, or your crew quarters need an overhaul to start feeling like home, I've got you covered.

Yup I also saw "Guardians of the Galaxy" and I really like Groot. So I decided since my nails have actually gotten to decent length finally I would paint a baby Groot on to my nails. By decent length I mean just past the end of my fingers, which is still really short by nail art standards. However, I usually keep my nails REALLY short so this is quite long for me. Given that knowledge there's not enough fun nail art for short nails in my opinion.

This is also a really simple manicure, so if you usually fail at nail art, my guess you'll be able to do with minimal problems.

The goal is get a simplified version of the face on my thumbnail and then to create a vine covered moss effect on the rest of the nails. The real trick to this manicure is having a matte top coat, which allows you to make you nails matte like wood but also allows Groot's eyes to be really shiny against the back drop.

Step 1: Gather Your Materials!

1. Black Nail Polish

2. Brown Nail Polish

3. Green Nail Polish

4. Matte Top Coat

5. Old fan brush, or a make up sponge

6. A small dotting tool or a toothpick

7. A large dotting tool, or the head of round pin

8. If you like nail art a good base coat is worthwhile, but it's not necessary.

Step 2: Follow the Video

I really enjoyed this manicure, if for no other reason than it's not SUPER complicated. This way you can have a little Groot following you throughout your day. I definitely found myself looking down at my thumbnail and smiling at the friendly familiar face that looked back at me.
