Introduction: Grown-up Rice Krispies Treats

An updated, "grown-up" version of the Original Rice Krispies Treats recipe.

Original Recipe:
3 TBS Butter (or margarine)
3 c. mini marshmallows (approx 10 oz)
6 c. Rice Krispies cereal

Grown-up Additions:
Use Cocoa Krispies cereal instead (6 c.)
1/4 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
1/16 tsp ground cloves
2 TBS baking cocoa (or melted dark chocolate)
optional: 1 tsp instant coffee crystals

Melt Margarine and Marshmallows over low heat in a nonstick pot.  Sprinkle spices, vanilla, cocoa, and coffee crystals over top.  Stir in cereal.  Turn off heat.  
Dump mixture into a 9x9 in baking pan.  Set on countertop to cool (or in fridge if you're in a hurry).
When cooled to room temp, cut into 9 peices (2 cuts going each direction), cover with an upside-down plate/platter, and flip.  Separate squares.

Dress 'em up!
Drizzle melted chocolate or a cinnamon-sugar glaze (or both) over the squares prior to separating.
