Follow this easy step-by-step recipe:

Supplies

For the filling:

1/3 cup unsalted butter

1/3 cup chopped onion and garlic

1/3 cup flour

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1 3/4 cup chicken broth, low sodium

1/2 cup milk

1 1/2 cup cooked chicken

2,5 cups vegetable mix (chopped potatoes, carrot and peas)

For the pie crust:

2 1/2 cups flour

1/3 cup salted butter

5 tbsp water

You will also need a rolling pin and 11 inch pie pan

Step 1: Cook the Filling

Start with the filling, because it needs time to cool. You can make the filling ahead of time and store in the fridge up to 2-3 days.

Add butter to the hot pan. Add chopped onion and garlic and cook, stirring, for a few minutes.

Add flour, salt and pepper and cook stirring 30 seconds.

Add chicken broth and milk.

Add mixed vegetables and cooked shredded chicken.

Cook the filling until it thickens, about 5 minutes.

Let it cool completely before adding to the pie crust!

Step 2: Make the Dough for the Pie Crusts

You can skip this step, if you have store-bought pie crust. But this is such an easy pie crust recipe!

First, prepare all ingredients. Put flour in a large bowl, add cold butter, cut into cubes. Press with your fingers until you have a crumbly mixture.

Gradually add cold butter and knead until it comes together.

Divide the dough into 2 discs (one larger than another), wrap each in plastic and leave in the fridge for 10 minutes.

Step 3: Roll the Pie Crust

Unwrap the larger disc and place it on the floured surface.

Dust the rolling pin with flour and roll the round bottom crust.

Carefully roll the dough on the rolling pin to transfer to the 11 inch pie pan.

Poke the holes in the bottom of the crust and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes. This will prevent the crust from shrinking.

Step 4: Make the Pie

Add the filling to the pie pan with pie crust.

Roll the second disc and add it on top of the pie.

Press the edges with your fingers and cut excess edges.

Using a sharp knife, cut the face of Jack-o-Lantern.

Brush the top of the pie with beaten egg.

Step 5: Bake the Pie and Serve

Bake 30-40 minutes in the oven, preheated to 425 F /220 C.

Let it cool 10 minutes before serving and enjoy!

You can store it in the fridge for 3-4 days.
