Introduction: Harry Potter Inspired Pygmy Puff

I decided to make a Pygmy puff from Harry Potter movies. I saw Pygmys in the wizard shop, but it was so different from the one seen on the screen.

If you don't have a 3d printer yet or you don't want to spend your time with making a model, you can order the plastic parts here:

Step 1:

The first step is to collect the materials:

  • plastic parts (head and four legs)
  • colored fur ball. This should have the size between 8-12cm for the normal size Pygmy. You can saw it yourself or order one.

Step 2:

Four leg and a head model should be made. In order to make the assembly process easily there is a hook on every part.

The head is sliced in two, because it's easier to print this way and it doesn't need support.

Step 3:

The parts of the head should be glued together.

Step 4:

The next step is to paint the plastic parts. The color should match to the fur. I created a natural brown pygmy and traditional pink.

Step 5:

There are hooks on the legs and the back of the head. The parts can be fixed to the furball with thread by the hook. Since the hook is fragile, it is advised to use hot glue also. This will fix them in the right position.

Step 6:

Finally the Pygmy is ready. The model can be resized, so it can be made in bigger size. Making them too small is not a good idea, it would loose the details on its face.
