Introduction: Healthy Foods and Snacks

Hello, nice to share with you my quick menu. The family is like most families in Vietnam. We have at least 3 or 4 generations to live together. Grandparents (> 75 years old), parents (50 years old - 70 years old), children (16 years old - 40 years old), grandchildren (<8 years old).

Therefore, preparing a fast and nutritious menu for the whole family is also a job that needs to be prepared and streamlined.

Step 1: Salty Food

Salty foods are often served with rice, bread or other foods during meals. Usually I will prepare 1 serving for 2 days.

- As you can see in the video, this is our "Giò" making process. Pork is finely ground and kept cold during the grinding process to prevent it from being cooked. We are going to season it mainly with fish sauce. Then tie it and boil it. It can be used for 3 days when stored in the refrigerator. It is used with bread, rice, sticky rice. "Giò" may be from pork and beef.

- I have no intention of sharing how to do it because it will be quite long. If you have the opportunity to come to Vietnam or try the "Giò" dish it is quite good. Of course the same recipe as above we have about 10 kinds of "Giò"

- The next photo below is "Ruốc" + roasted peanuts.

+ "Ruốc" are made from the tenderloin. Pork tenderloin is marinated with spices mainly fish sauce. Heat them in low heat. Then we crushed them. And roast until it dries. "Ruốc" can be kept in airtight containers and stored at room temperature for up to 1 week without preservatives. It is used with bread, rice, sticky rice. "Ruốc" can be made from pork, chicken, fish ...

+ Peanut. We usually use peanuts in 3 ways.

-- We roast peanuts to ripe, put in sealed boxes and use with fish sauce - We roasted peanuts and sesame. Then crush them with a moderate amount of salt. Put in an airtight container. - We roasted peanuts with vegetable fat or oil, add a little salt. Put in an airtight container. They can be used for up to 1 week at room temperature.

- Chicken eggs are also a great option. We usually use it once a week.

- And there are many other dishes. If you have come to Vietnam, you must know it is very rich.

- All these dishes you can make in your spare time while watching TV

Step 2: The Dish Provides Starch

- Boiled sweet potatoes are a great option. It provides good starches like oats. And it tastes a lot better than oats. You can eat it with honey or the aforementioned savory dishes especially "Giò". You can boil it in the shower and boiled potatoes will be ready for breakfast the next day.

- Boiled corn is also a great option. It's like sweet potato.

- That rice is our main food. You can add rice to the pot and set a timer. It will be cooked at around 4am. When you wake up, the rice is ready.. Rice is used with a variety of salty foods.

- Bread you can buy at the supermarket and it can be used for 2 days.

- "Bánh đa" thì gần giống với "Phở". But of course it's different. Processing is also quite simple. You can buy "Bánh đa" and store it all month indoors. Only need to keep it closed. You can keep the broth, add some pieces of meat to the "Bánh đa". You had a great breakfast like Prime Minister Obama ate "Phở". A little seafood instead of pork you will be able to eat "Bánh đa" all week. We have several different types of "Bánh đa"

- The tea is also easily cooked with a rice cooker. Of course you will cook it when you go to the movies. You can keep it hot or keep it cold for breakfast. usually cook it with black beans and lotus seeds.

Step 3: Green Vegetables and Fruits.

- As a tropical country we have a lot of vegetables and fruits that can be eaten without cooking. We do not use much milk, the milk usually used for children. Green vegetables are an excellent source of vitamins.

- Every season we have a different type of fruit and vegetable. Such as grapefruit, oranges, grapes, bananas, guava ...

- There are many dishes we use in 1 week to not boring and ensure enough nutrition. Most don't have English names, so I share with you a little bit of how I prepare a quick meal for my family. Thank you for reading. If you come to Vietnam, please call me happy if you are invited to invite me for the dishes I have prepared. Best regards.
